New policies for The Wash Fishery Order Several Fisheries
Eastern IFCA administers a several fishery under the Wash Fishery Order 1992. This is used to grant shellfish ‘lays’ to fishers for the purposes of shellfish aquaculture.
Interim policies relating to the administration of shellfish lays have been agreed at the 30th Eastern IFCA Meeting held on the 25 October 2017. The new polices came into force with immediate effect following the meeting.
These are interim measures which will ultimately be replaced by permanent measures following consultation with the industry.
