2026 Intertidal Cockle Survey Report
The 2026 cockle survey report has been published and is available at the link below.
The report includes information about the biomass and age structure of cockles. It also sets out some proposals for management measures having considered the results of the survey against the Wash Cockle Fisheries Management Plan.
The report and the initial proposals have been published earlier this year, and prior to development of the full suite of Wash Cockle Fishery management measures following feedback that this will facilitate industry input into development of management measures. The survey results and management measures will be considered in more detail at the Wash Industry Meeting before formal proposals are developed, which will then be the subject of further industry consultation before being confirmed.
