2026 Wash Mussel Fishery Permit Conditions Review Outcome Published
A consultation seeking industry’s views on the management measures for the 2026 Wash Mussel Fishery, including those introduced on 31st July 2026 under the urgent provisions (paragraph 21 and 24) of the Wash Cockle and Mussel Byelaw 2021 was held between the 21st September and the 5th October 2026. Following the consultation, the revised permit conditions for the 2026 Mussel Fishery have been reviewed in accordance with Schedule 4 of the byelaw. In summary, no adverse impacts were identified as a result of the revisions made to permit conditions and the conditions will remain in place until they are reviewed again following completion of the 2026 mussel surveys.
