New Permit Conditions agreed for Shrimp and Whelk Fisheries

At the 62nd Eastern IFCA Meeting (held on 10 December 2025) members approved new permit conditions for the shrimp and whelk fisheries within the district. The Authority also agreed to undertake further work to develop eligibility criteria within the shrimp fishery.

The permit conditions are not yet in effect. The Authority will be in touch with shrimp and whelk permit holders early in the new year to explain how the conditions will be implemented and help them prepare for the additional requirements.

More information is set out below.
