Business Support Officer
Hours: Part-time, 27.5 hours per week (Tuesday – Friday)
Salary: £25,583 (pro rata)

Eastern IFCA is one of 10 Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authorities in England. We are responsible for managing and protecting inshore fisheries and the marine environment.
We are seeking a Business Support Officer to join our Administrative Team. This is a varied and important role supporting Officers, Members, and stakeholders, and helping ensure the smooth running of the Authority’s operations.
As a key member of the team, you will also act as the first point of contact for callers and visitors, providing a professional and helpful service.
Key Responsibilities
Provide general administrative and clerical support to the Authority
Process invoices, manage payments, and maintain financial records
Administer fishing licences and permits, maintaining accurate databases
Maintain and organise shared drives and internal data systems
Support compliance with data protection (GDPR) and information requests (FOI/EIR)
Respond to enquiries from staff, stakeholders, and the public
Input and manage data across various systems
Assist with website updates and social media activity
Provide reception cover and support the wider team as required
About You
The ideal candidate will share our passion for the marine environment and will have:
Essential
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organisational and time management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Office 365)
Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
Right to work in the UK
Ability to achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard clearance
Desirable
Experience in managing data or databases
Experience of multi-media communications
Knowledge of data protection legislation
Experience working with media or producing promotional content
