In addition, Government is consulting on proposed amendments to the Joint Fisheries Statement (JFS).  The amendments to the JFS relate to:

  • changes in the published timelines for delivering FMPs;
  • some technical changes to FMPs (such as adding to the species lists referred to in some FMPs and extending the geographical scope of some FMPs);
  • The addition of a new FMP (Periwinkle in Northern Ireland); and
  • Changes to the bodies responsible for FMP delivery (affecting some Welsh FMPs).

The following link provides more information on the proposed changes: Proposed amendments to Annex A of the JFS consultation doument.pdf
