Stakeholder Group

The Stakeholder Group is for everyone who has an interest in the fisheries management deliberations at the Cromer Shoal Chalk Beds MCZ. It is coordinated by the Marine Conservation Society’s Agents of Change project, which is co-funded by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and the LIFE programme of the European Union. The Agents of Change project aims to help increase community connection and inclusion in local decision making, to support management outcomes that work for society and sea.

The Stakeholder Group currently comprises Eastern IFCA, Natural England, fishing industry, environmentalists, charities, interested residents, academics and staff/members of local parish, town, regional and county Councils. The Stakeholder Group is a forum for discussion, knowledge exchange and idea development that is open to all. The Stakeholder Group provides a direct channel of communication between the Eastern IFCA’s Project Board and community members affected by, or interested in, the development of regulation at the Cromer Shoal Chalk Beds MCZ. The Project Board uses the Stakeholder Group to gather wider sources of information and to connect with local perspective.

In addition to feeding in to the Eastern IFCA’s Project Board decision-making processes, the Stakeholder Group also seeks to find common ground and to foster mutual understanding between different between those with different interests at the MCZ. The Group operates in the spirit of respect for other views and perspectives. Meetings are facilitated to ensure the spirit of respect is observed.

If you are interested to know more, or to join the Stakeholder Group, please contact Alice Tebb at  alice.tebb@mcsuk.org or on 07422 965 027.
