Salary: £32,597.00 – £35,412.00
Hours: 37 hours per week

Help shape policy and deliver projects for the marine environment
Eastern IFCA is one of England’s largest Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authorities, responsible for managing inshore fisheries and protecting the marine environment along the coasts of Lincolnshire, Norfolk and Suffolk.
We are seeking a Policy and Projects Officer to support the development of policy and delivery of projects that underpin sustainable fisheries and conservation across our District.
This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of policy, science, and delivery, contributing directly to real-world marine management.
About the role
You will play a key role supporting both policy / management measure development and project delivery, working across multiple teams and priorities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the development and review of policy, strategies, and management measures
- Delivering and coordinating projects and workstreams across the organisation
- Drafting high-quality documents including Authority papers, reports, and business cases
- Engaging with stakeholders including regulators, partners, and fishing communities
- Supporting organisational planning processes such as Business Plans and work programmes
- Working collaboratively with marine science and enforcement teams
This is a varied and dynamic role requiring strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
About you
We are looking for someone who is organised, analytical and able to communicate effectively across a range of audiences.
Essential:
- Degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant discipline
- Experience of project planning and delivery
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working collaboratively across teams
- Good IT skills (MS Office)
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Marine or environmental degree
- Experience in project or policy role
- Experience producing formal reports
