New Regulation & Compliance Strategy and Enforcement Policy
The Authority has approved two important documents that will guide the work of Eastern IFCA. The Regulation and Compliance Strategy introduces an integrated approach, encompassing communication, research and enforcement to provide the principles that will underpin the Authority’s overall approach to regulation and compliance.
The Enforcement Policy sets out how Eastern IFCA will seek to achieve compliance with regulations and provides that an adaptive co-management approach will be taken, where compliance is achieved through engagement, advice and understanding. It also provides the range of sanctions open to the Authority where compliance is not achieved through this approach.
