Survey to understand sea angler views, knowledge and compliance with regulations

The Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science (Cefas) are undertaking a survey examining sea angler’s views, knowledge, and compliance with regulations in England and Wales, and are calling on sea anglers to complete the survey.

All responses to the survey will be completely anonymous, and participants will be asked about their knowledge of angling regulations, sources of information, perceptions of fishery management, and experience as an angler. The survey is looking to gather feedback from anglers to understand how they receive, interpret and follow regulations.

The responses gathered from the survey will help to understand how information on regulations can be shared in the best way, and how best to work with anglers to improve knowledge and compliance.  A report will be produced and used by scientists, fisheries managers, and the angling community to inform future strategies.

The more responses to the survey, the better the quality of the information produced. All sea anglers are encouraged to take part in the survey to help improve the sustainability of our fisheries.
