UPDATE ON FISHERIES MANAGEMENT PLANS: PROGRESS, WORKSHOPS AND ENGAGEMENT

DEFRA has published a new update on Fisheries Management Plans on their Fisheries Management Plans (FMP) blog page, which discusses their recent work including research and development priorities for 2025/26.

The blog post highlights progress on several initiatives including the Cuttlefish Action Plan, Celtic Sea and Western Channel demersal FMP, King scallops in the Channel, crab management pilot in the southwest, whelk management, and the Bass Management Group.

DEFRA also announce they have reviewed responses to the latest FMP consultations and are making changes to the final plans of publication.
