Apply for an Exemption from our Byelaws
If you wish to conduct an activity for the purposes of a scientific survey or for stocking or breeding purposes that would otherwise be in contravention of one or more of our byelaws, or one or more of the permit conditions as set out in the Byelaws you must apply for an exemption.
To find out when you should apply and the information required please see our Guidance on Exemption Requests.
If you require an exemption from one or more of our byelaws an exemption request should be submitted through the Exemptions Application Form. It should include sufficient information to enable the Authority to make a decision.
Each exemption request is assessed by Eastern IFCA in terms of the likely effects. In its assessment the Authority, having regard to its statutory duties will consider, amongst other things, the impacts set out in the application.
It may take up to 28 working days to process your application. In addition, if the proposed activity is planned to take place in a Marine protected Area, advice will be required from Natural England which may increase the time taken to process your application to 56 working days.
Once completed, please send applications marked ‘EXEMPTION’ to: mail@eastern-ifca.gov.uk; Or by post to:
