Closure of Horseshoe Point Cockle Fishery
Eastern IFCA has renewed the closure of the Horseshoe Point cockle fishery under Byelaw XXIV, as a continuation of the existing circumstances. The lack of water classification in this area means that cockles found there cannot be determined as suitable for human consumption. This closure will be in place until the 31st August 2023, subject to any further extensions. Please see here for further details.
