Deadline to Register as an Interested Party for the Sheringham Extension Project and Dudgeon Extension Project Proposal

A proposal to extend the Sheringham Shoal and Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farms is to be considered by the Planning Inspectorate. The project, called “Sheringham Extension Project and Dudgeon Extension Project” (SEP & DEP), would see additional wind turbines placed in areas adjacent to the existing wind farms, and new export electricity cables laid from the wind farms to a landfall point near Weybourne, Norfolk.

More information on SEP&DEP can be found on the developer Equinor’s website here:  https://sepanddep.commonplace.is/

Anybody wishing to be formally involved in the Planning Inspectorate’s examination of the proposals can register as an Interested Party via the Planning Inspectorate’s website here: https://infrastructure.planninginspectorate.gov.uk/projects/Eastern/Sheringham-and-Dudgeon-Extension-Projects/ . Interested Parties are required to submit a written outline of their interest in the proposals when they register. The deadline for registration is Monday 14th November 2022 at 23:59.

Advice on the registration process can be found here: https://infrastructure.planninginspectorate.gov.uk/legislation-and-advice/advice-notes/advice-note-8-2-how-to-register-to-participate-in-an-examination/ .

Eastern IFCA will register as an Interested Party and raise comments relating to potential impacts on inshore fisheries and marine protected areas. Eastern IFCA does not directly represent the fishing industry or conservation groups, but strives to ensure fishing and conservation are duly considered during marine planning casework.
