Final Report of the Sea Angling 2016 – 2017 Project published

Cefas have, today, released the final report on the Sea Angling 2016-17 Project.  To view the press release on the government website click here.

This report provides estimates of the numbers of sea anglers, participation rates, catches and economic impact across the UK in 2016 and 2017.  This is the culmination of many years of hard work by the project team and the incredible effort of over 1500 individual sea anglers that reported catches each month through the sea angling diary (www.seaangling.org) over the two years.  It is hoped that this will provide invaluable evidence to support the development of sea angling policy and ensure that the needs of sea anglers are taken into account in marine management.
