Eligibility Policy

The Authority will manage access to the public cockle and mussel fisheries by issuing permits under the Wash Cockle and Mussel Byelaw 2021.  There will be a limit on the number of permits issued and eligibility for a permit will be determined by the associated policy.

 

The Eligibility Policy was developed in consultation with fishing industry and seeks to build on the positive elements of the licence allocation system in place under the Order and revise and refine areas to ensure an equitable and fair system.
