Wash Management Measures Renewal

The management measures in place over the Wash Cockle and Mussel fisheries have been renewed. Any current exemptions that allow fishing will remain valid until further notice, on the condition that the holder fishes in strict accordance with the exemption conditions already issued.

The cockle and mussel fisheries in the area previously managed under the Wash Fishery Order 1992 and the Wash Restricted Area Byelaw shall therefore be closed under Byelaw 8 (Temporary Closure of Shellfish Fisheries) until 7 February 2026, or until the fisheries are reopened using the replacement management regulation. This will not change current levels of access.
