2022 Cromer Shoal Chalk Beds MCZ Imagery Analysis
Seabed videos collected during last year’s ROV surveys in the Cromer Shoal Chalk Beds MCZ have now been analysed by external contractors and the results presented in a final report. The report can be found on our website here. The purpose of these surveys was to trial the use of the new BlueROV2 and test its capabilities whilst also collecting footage of seabed habitats and crab and lobster potting gear to develop our understanding of the extent of rugged chalk habitats within the MCZ and to understand more about how fishing gear interact with chalk features. These surveys form part of the ongoing research work which we are carrying out in the MCZ as part of Adaptive Risk Management.’ More information about the work we are doing in the MCZ can be found on our MCZ web page here.
