Authority Members
Eastern IFCA is a statutory committee which meets quarterly, to receive reports from the Authority’s officers, take decisions on fisheries and conservation management, and to direct officers to conduct work on its behalf to discharge its duties. Eastern IFCA is primarily funded by its three constituent County Councils (Lincolnshire, Norfolk and Suffolk) and it also receives some funding from Defra.
How to become a member
The MMO operates a rolling campaign for the recruitment of IFCA General Members. Applications are open to all interested candidates throughout the year. Applications are also accepted from both current and former IFCA general members who are nearing the end of their ten-year term or those who have left having already served a ten-year term. Applications will be considered in a fair and open competitive process and appointed on merit to ensure a fair balance of sector representation.

The Authority’s 21 Members comprise: 7 County Councillors from across the constituent Councils; 1 representative each from the MMO, Natural England, and the Environment Agency; 11 individuals appointed by the MMO for their expertise and knowledge of various marine sectors.
